The Ancient Greeks used to carve their chalices and wine goblets with Amethyst and wear amulets made with Amethyst because they believed it would prevent them becoming intoxicated. That is why even today people still use it if they are trying to quit drinking or drugs or any other bad habits. It is one of two “Master Healers” (Quartz being the other), and is believed to have a wide range of Healing Properties.
